Poster and Social Media Project

I created this poster because I wanted to create a project that was eerie, old, and vintage in some way and I realized that the steampunk theme really captured that idea well. 

The mask was made as the centerpiece and is a hybrid between a plague doctor mask and a masquerade ball mask, complete with the gadgets and gizmos that often accompany the steampunk theme. The wood panel background and the gears and watch overgrown with golden vines also give an eerie, but still steampunk vibe. 

The thing that I learned most from making this project was refining my pen tool abilities, as every element was drawn out with the pen tool. The other major thing I learned is creating a color scheme that works, as I had gone through several prototypes, with vastly different colors before settling on this. This color scheme I feel best fits the theme of the poster because olive green and gold are often a part of the steampunk aesthetic as well as the leather elements on the mask.
